Where the Black Moon Rises: Chapter 14
Melina and Bleiz sprinted through the forest in search for their companions, Aneira following close behind. They were on the alert though, as they sensed a danger looming nearby. Just as the siblings passed through a clearing, an electrical current suddenly hit them from behind, shocking them both with powerful and painful waves of electricity. They screamed in pain, falling to the ground face down, their limbs involuntarily twitching still. Aneira came to a screeching halt as she dove behind some brush, staring with wide eyes at the scene unfolding before her. A gray hand reached down to grab a fistful of Bleiz’s brown hair, pulling his head back hard so he could gaze up into the eyes of a beautiful gray elf woman. This elf maiden, however, was not Verrona. She lifted her free hand then to snap her fingers, and in a moment's notice, the siblings found themselves surrounded. The weapons of every man from Tyne's group was trained on Melina and Bleiz then as two men rushed out to grab

Jaelryn wore a scowl as she stood in a clearing with her elven-kin, her arms crossed as she stared into the darkness of the surrounding forest. "Enough delays, humans. Show yourself!" Dozens of ruddy men stepped from between the trees, surrounding the dritearus. They stared, the entire group appeared gruff and angry. The bandits remained silent as the sound of heavy boots stepping in the mud grew closer to the gray elves. A tall figure swaggered out from the shadows of the trees. He carried a massive mace slung back on his left shoulder casually, his right hand swinging by his side. He was middle-aged, the sides of his short black hair held flecks of silver seen throughout his short black beard. His biceps were as thick as Jaelryn's waist, the man obviously physically dominating with rippling muscles. Tyne cast the gray elf female a toothy grin. Where the Black Moon Rises: Chapter 12
Kyvan’s eyebrows furrowed as he groaned, turning over on his side. He sensed... heat? He cracked open one blue eye to gaze at a campfire that crackled beside him. The light projected long dancing shadows along the stone walls of the cave. The fire pulsated, the glowing embers cascading colors of orange, red, yellow and white against his pale skin. Darkness surrounded him, save for the areas that the light from the fire reached. The prince shifted to a sitting position, his entire body aching from multiple bruises and cuts. Kyvan rested a hand to his throbbing skull before a movement caught his attention. Near the mouth of the cave appeared Melina, carrying two rabbits she hunted. From material out of her torn cloak, Melina crafted a make-shift sling for her arm. “Melina?” he spoke aloud, his voice hoarse and weak. She blinked as if only now noticing the prince was awake. She sat her kill to the side before kneeling before him. “You’re awake,” she said with a relieved smile.
